A home-grown street food brand is taking its success beyond Croatia, with plans to open 15 new restaurants across Europe in the next two years.
Koykan, a Croatian street food chain known for its globally inspired menu and modern business approach, is set to expand into seven countries.
As hrb.com.hr reports, by the end of 2026, the brand will open restaurants in Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia, and continue its growth within Croatia.
The expansion plan is ambitious but backed by over a decade of experience, detailed location analysis, and a proven business model.

The new restaurants will open in high-traffic urban centres, with a franchise system and streamlined digital operations supporting fast and efficient growth.
To support its growth, Koykan is adopting innovative funding strategies, becoming one of the first Croatian brands to use corporate bonds to raise capital—a model commonly seen in the US and Western Europe but still rare in Croatia.
This marks a major shift, not only for Koykan but for how Croatian brands approach funding large-scale expansion.
“This isn’t a start-up model. We don’t open based on predictions—we work with hard data. Every location is chosen based on verified traffic and spending potential,” said founder and CEO Boro Milivojević. “That’s why our investment payback typically comes within two years.”

Koykan has taken a transparent and inclusive approach to its bond offering, which is available to anyone in Croatia with a personal ID number (OIB). The company has already seen strong interest from the public, drawn to a growth model that is both clear and attainable.
