Croatian taekwondo star Lucija Zaninović has won the G1 Qatar Open yesterday to go along with her recent Luxor Open victory in Egypt…
Zaninović defeated Moroccan Saanu Atabrour in the final in Dohi 8-2 to confirm her world number 1 ranking in the U-49kg category. Lucija’s twin sister Ana is currently also the world number 1 in the U-53kg category. A phenomenal achievement for the sisters from the Dalmatian city of Split.
Lucija (27), from the Marjan club, convincingly holds the number one spot with 290 points, 210 points ahead of world number 2 Yasmina Aziez from France. Ana’s lead at the top of the world rankings is slightly less – she has a 2 point lead over Taiwan’s Huang Yunwen.
