On Tuesday Germany and Manchester Untied midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger (31) married his tennis star girlfriend of 2 years Ana Ivanović (28) in a intimate Venice ceremony…

The duty of entertaining the selected guests at the wedding ceremony, which included family, friends and a number of sport stars, fell to Croatian singer Nina Badrić. Ivanović has been a long-time fan of Badrić and her music and chose the 44-year-old to sing on her big day.

The couple held their wedding service at Venice City Hall before they went off to catch a ride to their reception by boat.

“Amazing wedding. The first day is over. I am happy for the groom and the bride was very beautiful. I am proud to be here,” Badrić wrote on social media as she posted some photos from the wedding.

Badrić has been one of Croatia’s most popular singers since she started her career in the early 1990s. Badrić represented Croatia in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2012.

The guest list was well-guarded but rumoured to included Bayern Munich president Uli Hoeness, Schweinsteiger’s national team coach Joachim Low, as well as Thomas Muller and Wimbledon champion Andy Murray.
