A Croatian shipyard is currently building the what is being introduced as the world’s first discovery yacht.
Scenic Eclipse, which will be the world’s most sophisticated luxury cruiser, is being built at Uljanik shipyard in Pula for Australian company Scenic.
The luxury cruise ship is designed to sail anywhere in the world with the latest innovations in naval design and technology for exploration in extreme environments, such as the Arctic and Antarctic coasts and the seabed.
“Designed to deliver the ultimate experience of a lifetime for only 228 guests, only 200 in the Arctic and Antarctica, Scenic Eclipse takes ocean cruising to a whole new level – marrying luxury, discovery, and safety, and giving guests the opportunity to explore above and beyond what was previously imaginable,” Scenic says.
State-of-the-art safety features allow the cruiser, which will be 165.70 meters long and 21.50 meters wide, to unlock a number of new destinations.
Scenic Eclipse will also offer a variety of features, including a platform for helicopters, submarine for seven people, a theater with 240 seats, a heated pool, gym, spa, jacuzzi, six restaurants, bars, room for Pilates and hundreds of apartments.
The 6-star luxury discovery yacht will launch in the Mediterranean on 31 August 2018, sailing from Athens to Venice.
