Croatian Sets New Record After Running 218km in 24-hrs

vjVeronika Jurišić has set a new Croatian record after running 218 kilometres in 24 hours…

Jurišić ran the equivalent of over 5 marathons in a just 24 hours when she took part in the 24-hours World Running Championships in Torino over the weekend. Jurišić finished 16th, but she did managed to beat the old Croatian record, which she also held, by 15 kilometres. Fellow Croatian Antonija Orlić finished in 61st spot, whilst Barbara Belić finished 79th out of 122 athletes. The Croatian team ended up in 13th place.

“The hardest part was at night as I was not used to running at that time. Antonija and I were the best after 42 kilometre. We would have been first if it was a marathon. This was our second World Championships in this discipline,” said Jurišić. (photo / 100kmdelpassatore.it)
