2 May 2019 – The Croatian Scholarship Fund (CSF) has cerebrated its 30th anniversary with a charity dinner in Sacramento, California.

For the past 30 years, CSF has been providing financial assistance to the financially-deserving Croatian university students in Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“Without this assistance, many of these bright young men and women would not be able to obtain university education. This is made possible because individuals, families, and organiSations have supported our mission by generous donations or have sponsored one or more students,” CSF said.

Keynote speaker and guest on the night was former scholarship recipient Dr. Božo Skoko. Skoko spoke of the importance of CSF and how the fund has helped more 400 students.

Entertainment on the night was provided by Hojsak & Novosel, Skalinada Kolo Group, Sidro Tambura Band, Koraci Folklore Ensemble and Klapa Zora.

Founders and organisers honoured

There were also silent and live auctions on the night with all proceedings donated to kids in financial need in Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. At the dinner acknowledgments to founders and long-standing CSF organisers were awarded.

“The initial dream of our founders is now a reality. Our first students, who lived through the war and conflict, and now leading productive, peaceful and full lives in an independent Croatia.

Over the course of 30 years, the CSF has become more than a charity. We have become a family of caring people who have nurtured and developed the dreams of many young men and women.”
