Croatian Red Cross receives 2.5 million kuna donation from Coca-Cola Foundation

ZAGREB, May 18 (Hina) – Red Cross Croatia (HCK) received a donation from the Coca-Cola Foundation on Monday in the amount of HRK 2.5 million, 1.7 million of which is earmarked for activities related to the coronavirus pandemic.

“In an effort to help HCK respond better to the enormous need of the people, the Coca-Cola Foundation has donated more than HRK 2.5 million to HCK. Of that amount, HRK 1.7 million is earmarked for activities related to the COVID-19 pandemic and HRK 850,000 is to help the most vulnerable citizens affected by the earthquake in Zagreb and its environs,” a press release by HCK notes.

Part of the funds will be spent to procure 2,500 family food parcels, protective equipment and disinfectants as well as procuring protective equipment for volunteers so that they can safely assist citizens.

“The donation will be used to upgrade psychological help for citizens suffering from stress, particularly vulnerable groups who will receive help either over the phone or in their homes,” the press release said.
