Croatian pride at Miss World 2025 as Tomislava impresses in India

The 72nd Miss World pageant is currently underway in Hyderabad, India.
Bringing together 108 contestants from around the globe, this year’s edition once again highlights not just beauty, but compassion, intelligence, and cultural identity.
Representing Croatia with poise and passion is Tomislava Dukić, who has made a remarkable impact across all official competition categories.
A Cultural Showcase
During the Dances of the World opening ceremony, Tomislava performed in a traditional Lika folk costume, proudly showcasing Croatia’s heritage through a blend of authentic dance steps and contemporary stage presentation.

The costume and performance were supported by the Lika-Senj County, celebrating the richness of Croatian tradition on a global platform.

Contest Categories and Croatian Representation
Miss World contestants are divided into four continental groups: Europe, Asia & Oceania, Africa, and the Americas & Caribbean. Tomislava is competing as part of the European group and has impressed in all key categories:
Beauty with a Purpose – Heart of the Competition
The most important segment of Miss World, Beauty with a Purpose focuses on humanitarian efforts. Tomislava’s project involved a month of volunteering at an orphanage in Benin. Reflecting on her experience, she said:
“Children are our future and the most vulnerable members of society. Even a small act – a smile, a conversation, a helping hand – can change someone’s world. That’s what inspired my volunteering.”

Her heartfelt project has already touched audiences and judges alike, highlighting the deeper purpose behind her participation.
Head-to-Head Challenge – Intelligence and Engagement
This debate-style segment allows contestants to present their humanitarian projects and personal beliefs. Tomislava used this platform to articulate her values and hopes for social change, demonstrating not only eloquence but also genuine commitment to meaningful causes.

Top Model – A Royal Tribute
Tomislava graced the Top Model category in a costume inspired by the coronation of King Tomislav and the millennial anniversary of the Croatian kingdom.

The historically symbolic design was created by Marina Lacković, founder of the fashion label Larie, and was intended to reflect national pride and statehood on the world stage.

Talent Show – Art with a Message
In the Talent category, Tomislava presented a powerful artistic piece – a painting reflecting her memories from the Benin orphanage.
Combining visual art and personal narrative, her performance sent a moving message of hope, empathy, and responsibility.
Sports Challenge – Strength and Spirit
A graduate in kinesiology, Tomislava took part in both individual and team-based sports challenges, showing athleticism and team spirit.

With an active and authentic presence on social media, Tomislava has been sharing insights from the competition, behind-the-scenes moments, and updates on her humanitarian work.

This digital engagement plays an increasingly important role in the competition, allowing contestants to amplify their message to global audiences.
The Road to the Crown
The competition progresses through several phases:
• Top 40 – 10 from each continental group
• Top 20 – 5 from each group
• Top 8 – 2 per group
• Top 4 – One finalist from each group competes for the crown
Ultimately, one contestant will be crowned Miss World, while three others will be named runners-up.
Throughout the event, participants have had the chance to explore the beauty and spirituality of Telangana, including a visit to a historic Hindu temple.

Tomislava’s journey to India was supported by ATI, the Croatian National Tourist Board, and a number of Croatian designers and sponsors, including Larie, Nikolina Wedding Store, Natalija Smogor, and Brokat haute couture.
