Croatian Post To Mark World Romani Language Day With Stamp

Croatian post will mark World Romani Language Day by bringing out a special stamp with a motive and text in the Romani language.

More than 100,000 stamps, which are designed by Zagreb designer Dubravka Zglavnik Horvat, will be released on 5 November, The World Day of the Romani Language.

The day was first celebrated in Croatia on 2009, after the Kali Sara Society’s initiative to promote education of the Roma people in Croatia.

Roma have been an ethnic group in Croatia for over 600 years, with an estimated 50,000 currently living in the country.
