Croatian Post To Enter Gold Pawn Market

One of the most profitable businesses in Croatia currently are gold pawn shops, and a new player is about to enter the market in an unlikely form. Croatian Post (HP) is set next week to present its plans to include the buying of gold with its ordinary mail services.

If there is enough interest, Poslovni dnevnik reports that the national mail service will offer the gold pawn service at over 200 post offices around Croatia. The first phase is expected to see 30 post offices around the country initially offer the service.

“The market for buying gold in Croatia, and the whole of Europe is experiencing rapid growth, and there is potential for more. Croatian Post are currently in the pilot phase, and depending on its success, it may spread to most post offices in the country. With the service Croatia Post wants to make profits, but above all it secures jobs for people,” said Croatian Post.
