Croatian olive oils win big at New York World Olive Oil Competition

the world’s most prestigious olive oil quality contest.

26 May 2021 – There has been big success for Croatian olive oils at the NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition (NYIOOC) in New York, which is the world’s largest and most prestigious olive oil quality contest.

The complete results of the 2021 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition were released today on the Official Index of the World’s Best Olive Oils and this year, olive oils from Croatia’s Dalmatian coast have outshone olive oils from Istria, which have traditionally done better.

Dalmatian olive oils won more than half of the 66 gold and 20 silver medals which went to Croatia at the 2021 NYIOOC.

“Investments in olive groves in the vicinity of Zadar and the Zadar hinterland, where some of the best positions for olive trees in Croatia are located, have yielded results,” portal Kult Plave Kamenice writes.

A new, contemporary scene of Dalmatian olive growing was presented in New York, which will significantly strengthen Croatia’s international position among olive growing countries.

An International jury of experts from 13 countries judged 1,159 olive oil brands from 28 countries this year.

These are the awarded Croatian olive oils from the New York International Olive Oil Competition.
