Croatian National Theatre Joins European Opera Houses in Free Live Streaming

The Croatian National Theatre (HNK) based in the capital Zagreb, has joined some of Europe’s top houses in live streaming of opera performances on the Internet, HNK said on Thursday.

The Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb has joined the ‘OperaVision’ programme backed by the European Union which sees some of Europe’s top houses streaming performances free to make opera more accessible.

From Thursday 12 October 2017, Croatia’s audience will be able to enjoy the latest productions from European theatres, whilst people will also be able to watch HNK renditions of operas.

So far 30 houses from 18 European countries are involved in the programme offering live streaming.

The first opera to be live-streamed is Claude Debussy’s”Pelleas and Melisande” to be performed by Komische Oper Berlin on 15 October, Hina reported.
