Croatian Museum Nominated for European Museum of the Year


The Ilok City Museum, located in the eastern Croatian town of Ilok, has been nominated for the prestigious European Museum of the Year Award 2013, reports Croatian radiotelevision.

The award is presented to the museum that has best achieved a special contribution with work with the public, new museum interpretation and presentation, and the best innovative approach in working with the public and cooperation with the community.

There are more than 40 nominations from over 20 countries for this year’s award, a feather in the cap for Croatian museums and especially the Ilok City Museum.The Ilok City Museum was founded in 1952 and from 1969 it has been based at the Odescalchi Castle.
