Croatian Girls Start Fed Cup With Win

It is one of the youngest and most exciting team that Croatia has ever fielded in the Fed Cup, and they made successful start when their group matches started today in Israel.

Croatia, made up of new junior Australian Open champion Ana Konjuh, first round winner at the Australian Open Donna Vekic, Tereza Mrdeza and Darija Jurak, beat Austrian in their opening group A match.

Vekic beat Meusburger before Konjuh and Jurak teamed up to win the doubles rubber. Croatia won the tie 2-1 and now face Georgia and Belarus in the next couple days. The team is captained by former French Open winner Iva Majoli.
