Croatian Free Diver Creates History in Dubai

fbCroatian free-diver Goran Čolak has created history after winning the Fazza Championship for Freediving 2015 this weekend in Dubai…

Čolak became the most successful diver in the history of the competition after he won his third title to go with his two second place finishes in the last five years. Čolak won this weekend’s event with a time of 8 minutes and 36 minutes. Another Croatian, Veljano Zanki, finished in second place clocking a time of 8 minutes and 4 seconds.

“Winning the title is a wonderful feeling and it is quite impressive that Dubai is not just a modern city but also tries to preserve its heritage through championships like these,” said Goran after his victory.

Čolak last year set a new Guinness free-diving record (static apnea on pure oxygen – timed breath hold) when he successfully held his breath underwater for an amazing 23 minutes and 1 second. (photo / Facebook)
