Šibenik

ZAGREB, 8 May (Hina) – The fourth edition of the Night of Fortresses will take place this Friday, 9 May, at 70 locations across Europe.

The programme for the event, which was launched four years ago at the initiative of the Šibenik-based public institution Fortress of Culture, was presented at the Barone Fortress this week.

Gorana Barišić Bačelić, director of Fortress of Culture, said this year’s event also carries an environmental message under the slogan “Night of Fortresses Goes Green”.

Held for the fourth consecutive year, the Night of Fortresses will span several European countries, including Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Italy, Romania, Ukraine, Montenegro and Czechia.

All the events this year include an environmental element, and Barišić Bačelić stressed that the organisers wanted to highlight the important role cultural institutions play in helping society transition towards sustainable development.

This year’s programme will be held at 70 locations across Europe, with Croatian cities taking part including Varaždin, Slavonski Brod, Svetvinčenat, Rijeka, Ogulin, Klis, Dubrovnik, Ivanić-Grad, Buje, Ozalj, Pakoštane and Makarska.
