Croatian Film Success at Sarajevo Film Festival

2013 has been a successful year for Croatian film, with box-office records being smashed in Croatia and a number of films awarded on the international stage. That success has continued at the recently closed 19th edition of the Sarajevo Film Festival. 

A Stranger by Bobo Jelčić won the Special Jury Award and Heart of Sarajevo for best actor – Bogdan Diklić, while other awards went to documentary films Married to the Swiss Franc by Arsen Oremović, The Verdict by Đuro Gavran, My! My! My Little Room! by Barbara Vekarić, and the documentary project Mia, Myself and an Extra Chromosome by Eva Kraljević.

Heart of Sarajevo for best feature film went to the Georgian film In Bloom, directed by Nana Ekvtimishvili and Simon Gross, the best documentary film is the Austrian Sickfuckpeople, directed by Juri Rechinsky, and the award for best short film went to Shadow of a Cloud by Romanian director Radu Jude.
