Croatian fans invade Oslo for world handball final

Croatia reached the final of the 2025 IHF World Men’s Handball Championship after a thrilling 31-28 victory over France in the semi-finals.
The win secured Croatia’s place in their fifth World Championship final.
As soon as the final buzzer went off, travel agencies were flooded with calls from fans eager to book flights to Oslo for Sunday’s final.
Demand has been so high that additional charter flights are being arranged to accommodate the surge of Croatian supporters heading to Norway.

The atmosphere in Croatia has been electric throughout the tournament, with fans packing Zagreb Arena.
The dramatic last-second win against Hungary in the quarter-finals and the impressive semi-final victory over France have only intensified the enthusiasm.
Now, thousands of Croatian fans are expected to fill the stands of Oslo’s Unity Arena, which has a capacity of 14,000.
With the passionate Croatian supporters known for creating an incredible atmosphere, don’t be surprised if a big part of the arena is covered in red and white chequered jerseys.

Croatia faces reigning champions Denmark in Sunday’s final at 18:00 CET in Baerum, Norway.
Denmark are the triple defending World Champions, having won the title in 2019, 2021 and 2023 and the bookmakers have made them overwhelming favourites giving them a 90% chance of victory.
However, Croatia will be hoping to pull off a surprise and replicate their historic triumph from 2003, when they won their only World Championship gold medal.
One thing is certain – Croatia will not be lacking support in Oslo. The stage is set for an unforgettable final, and Croatian fans are ready to back their team all the way.
