Croatian fan nails half-court shot & wins 1,200 ćevapi & 120 litres of beer

6 February 2019 – A basketball fan in Croatia has won 1,200 ćevapčići and 120 litres of beer after nailing a half-court shot during a halftime competition on Wednesday in Split.
KK Split fan Petar Gavranić scored from half-court during a halftime competition during Split’s match against KK Sixt Primorska at Arena Gripe in Split.
After six months of the halftime competition being held, the prizes which had started off at 1,000 ćevapčići and 100 litres of beer for making a shot from the three-throw line at the opposite end of the court, and 500 ćevapčići and 50 litres of beer for making a shot from the halfway line, had accumulated to 2,300 ćevapčići and 230 litres of beer for the three-throw shot, and 1,200 ćevapčići and 120 litres of beer for the half-court shot before tonight’s match.
Gavranić stepped up, gave himself a small run up and then let fly with the shot and, in amazement, watched it swish into the net. The lucky winner now has to decide what he will do with all these ćevapčići.
“I decided to try for the shot. I did not practice for it, but I made it. What will I do with so many ćevapčići? Uh, there are a lot of birthdays coming up. There will be some partying and I will ‘shout’ my friends,” Petar said after the win.
