Members of the Croatian community in Australia recently came together to celebrate Easter traditions at a special event hosted by the Croatian Cultural Association Geelong at the Croatian Community Centre.
The evening brought together community members of all ages for a vibrant program celebrating Croatian culture through food, creativity and family activities.
Guests enjoyed a series of engaging demonstrations highlighting traditional Croatian cuisine and festive Easter traditions.

Julie Marinovic led a popular cooking presentation, preparing much-loved Croatian dishes including sataraš and handmade gnocchi.

Her demonstration offered guests the opportunity to see traditional recipes prepared first-hand while sharing stories about their place in Croatian culinary heritage.

Adding to the evening’s inspiration, Tina Horvat presented ideas for decorating Easter tables, showing how simple decorative touches can create a warm and inviting festive setting.

Her presentation provided practical tips while celebrating the beauty of traditional Easter gatherings.
Jelka Jurinovic also captivated the audience with an elegant cake decorating demonstration. Guests were able to admire a selection of beautifully decorated cakes prepared for the event, adding a sweet highlight to the evening.

The event also placed a strong focus on family participation, ensuring younger members of the community could connect with Croatian traditions in a fun and engaging way.
Children enjoyed a variety of Easter-themed activities including crafts, colouring and interactive games, helping create a lively and joyful atmosphere throughout the evening.
