Croatian Democratic Union Claim for Damages in Croatia’s Largest Corruption Case

Sanader, his former spokesman Ratko Maček, treasurer Mladen Barišić and accountant Branka Pavosević are being pursued for damages resulting from Croatia’s largest ever corruption scandal. Lawyer Vladimir Teresak is claiming damages from the former HDZ officials citing damage caused to the party’s finances and reputation.

“The party’s right to claim damages is based on the practice of the European Court of Human Rights,” said Teresak.

Former HDZ President Sanader is currently serving a 10-year jail sentence for war profiteering and receiving bribes.
