Travel experts from leading UK newspaper The Telegraph select the 20 best destinations to visit in 2017, and the selection includes one Croatian destination.

Sitting at number 14 on the list of the 20 best destinations to visit in 2017 is the northern Adriatic city of Pula.

“Although it does have a rocky shoreline from which you can dive into the inviting waters of the Adriatic, Pula is not somewhere you would go for a beach holiday. Instead, it is a place to immerse yourself in Roman and Habsburg splendours by day and night (in warmer months the amphitheatre is the venue for concerts), and to begin an exploration of Istria’s Tuscan-like gastronomical and vinicultural offerings”, The Telegraph writes in its glowing assesment of Pula.

Pula, probably most famous for its Roman Arena which is among the six largest surviving Roman arenas in the World, enjoyed a record 2016, passing 400,000 visitors for the first time.

Also joining Pula on the list of the 20 best destinations to visit in 2017 were Bermuda, San Fransico, New Zealand and Hadrian’s Wall in England.
