Croatian cheese producer Sirana Gligora from the island of Pag has claimed three awards at the Great Taste Awards in the UK.
Gligora’s Paški sir, Kozlar cheese aged in pressed Maraska cherry skin and Kolan aged in olive skin have all won Great Taste Awards.
Great Taste, organised by the Guild of Fine Food, has been described as the ‘Oscars’ of the food world and the ‘epicurean equivalent of the Booker prize’.
In 2018 over 500 judges from all over the world, including specially trained food writers inputting judges’ comments, came together at 65 judging days from March through to early July.
Judging took place at Guild HQ in Dorset and at our permanent office, event and judging venue close to Borough Market, London.
Also awarded this year from Croatia was Nadalina Dark Chocolate – Venezuela Porcelana 80%, Nadalina Dark Chocolate – Dark Milk Ecuador 60%, Nadalina Spread Me! – Chocolate Spread with Olive Oil, Raspberry cordial from Imanje Kapronca and Lemon Marmalade from Mandarinet.
