Croatian beach makes list of 25 best nudist beaches in the world

CNN has included one Croatian beach in its recently published list of the 25 best nudist beaches in the world — and it’s one of the highest-ranked on the list.

Nugal Beach, located on the Makarska Riviera between the towns of Makarska and Tučepi, has earned international recognition for its natural beauty and peaceful seclusion. Ranked sixth on CNN’s list, Nugal stands out for its dramatic setting and pristine surroundings.

The beach, nestled between towering cliffs and shaded by pine trees, is known for its tranquillity and clear turquoise waters. As CNN describes it:

“Flanked by sheer cliffs and shaded by pine trees, this remote beach on the mainland opposite Brač island is reached via a narrow path that seems ready-made for goats rather than people seeking an apparel-free escape on the Adriatic.”

Accessing Nugal requires a bit of effort — the beach is only reachable by foot along a rocky path, with a walk of around 30 minutes from the nearest town.

Alternatively, visitors can arrive by boat or sea kayak from Makarska or Tučepi.

Like many Croatian beaches, Nugal is pebbled rather than sandy, so bringing a thick towel or a beach chair is advised for comfort.

CNN’s list highlights nudist beaches from all over the world, celebrating those that offer a blend of natural beauty, seclusion, and freedom.

Topping the list is Playa Naturista Chihuahua in Uruguay, a long-standing favourite that gained official nudist status in 2000.
