Irish actor and former James Bond star Pierce Brosnan was in the audience to watch Croatian actress Zrinka Cvitesic debut in the lead role in the West End production of the Broadway hit musical Once in Dublin this week, reports Gloria magazine.
Cvitesic (33), who won best actress in a leading role award for her part in one of Croatia’s most successful films What is a man without a moustache, acts alongside Declan Bennett in the musical based on the Oscar-winning film which tells the tale of an Irish busker and a young Czech mother who meet through a shared love of music.
Cvitesic’s debut was met with some raves reviews in the Irish press. “Zrinka Cvitesic’s character brings some brilliant comedy to the couple’s dynamic. Cvitesic plays on this mixture of wit and blunt honesty, which makes her all the more likeable as she pushes Guy to fulfill his potential,” wrote Entertainment.ie.
From Dublin the show moves to London’s West End and will be play from 9 April.
