Croatia Wins Best Up and Coming Short Haul Destination Award in London

Croatia has won the Travel Agents Choice Award in the Best Up and Coming Short Haul Destination category at the World Travel Market in London. It was the only award at the world’s largest travel event that is decided solely by tourism professionals in Great Britain.

Croatia’s Minister of Tourism was on hand to collect the award with Meri Matesic, Croatian National Tourist Board Director, who was optimistic of further growth in Croatian tourism from the lucrative British market.

“The British are satisfied guests, but they know very well what they want and what they are paying for. This award gives us reason for additional optimism for results from the British market for the season ahead of us.”

The award caps off a great 2012 tourist season for Croatia, one which saw records tumble up and down the coast.
