Half of the gold medal wines from Croatia were from producers in the Istria region. There was only one from Dalmatia, which was the Posip Nerica from the island of Korcula. Producers in Dalmatinska Zagora, Međimurje, Slavonia and Podunavlje also won gold.

Founded in 2004, the London-based competition now receives entries from over 47 countries worldwide and in 2014 received over 15,000 entries, making it the largest wine competition in the world.
