Croatia U-17 Coach: ‘Our group is the toughest at the World Cup’

The Croatian U-17 football team will open their U-17 FIFA World Cup campaign against hosts Chile after the draw was made for the finals yesterday…

Croatia were drawn in Group A with Chile, Nigeria and U.S.A.

Croatia will start off against Chile on 17 October in Santiago, before facing U.S.A three days later in Vina del Mar. Their final group match will be against Nigeria in Coquimbo on 23 October.

“Our group is the toughest at the World Cup,” Croatia coach Darijo Bašić said after the draw.

“First, opening the World Cup against the hosts is a dream come true. We will play in front of a packed stadium against a strong opponent and we will remember it for the rest of our lives. Nigeria is a top side and U.S.A have have shown themselves also against us at U-15, U-19 and U-21 level,” he said.
