Croatia recorded continued growth in tourism revenue in the first half of 2026, with foreign visitors generating €4.59 billion, according to data from the Croatian National Bank (HNB).

Revenue from foreign tourists reached €3.6417 billion in the second quarter of 2026, an increase of almost 4% compared with the same period last year.

That represents an additional €132.7 million in revenue compared with the second quarter of 2025.

For the first six months of the year, revenue from foreign tourists totalled €4.587 billion, almost 5% more than in the same period of 2025. In monetary terms, Croatia generated €212.4 million more from foreign visitors than during the first half of last year.

The results also reflect continued growth in domestic tourism.

During the first six months of 2026, Croatian travellers recorded a record 1.5 million arrivals and 4.2 million overnight stays. Arrivals were up 7% compared with the same period in 2025, while overnight stays increased by 6%.

Tourism Minister Tonči Glavina said the results from the pre-season reflected strategic and promotional activities adapted to changes in the tourism market.

He also highlighted the longer-term growth in tourism revenue.

Compared with 2016, revenue from foreign tourists increased by 120% both in the second quarter and across the first half of 2026.

According to Glavina, Croatia generated €2.5 billion more in tourism revenue during the first six months of 2026 than in the corresponding period ten years earlier. In the second quarter alone, revenue was €2 billion higher than in the same period of 2016.

The figures come as Croatia continues efforts to strengthen tourism beyond the peak summer months and increase the value generated by the sector.
