Croatia among world’s top ten destinations for digital nomads in 2026

Croatia has been ranked among the world’s top ten destinations for digital nomads in 2026, according to a newly released international index tracking the best countries for remote workers.

The annual ranking, published by U.S. News & World Report, highlights countries offering strong infrastructure, high quality of life, safety, connectivity, and favourable conditions for remote professionals.

At the top of the 2026 list is Iceland, followed by Singapore, Ireland, and the United States.

Croatia’s position in eighth place places it firmly within the global elite for digital nomad attractiveness, ahead of several larger economies and established remote-work hubs.

In recent years, Croatia has become an increasingly attractive destination for digital nomads, driven by a combination of safety, lifestyle quality, and natural beauty.

Croatia continues to operate one of Europe’s most attractive digital nomad residence schemes for non-EU remote workers.

Under the current rules, digital nomads can receive temporary residence for up to 18 months.
