Croatia’s national handball team have arrived in the Spanish capital Madrid on Thursday ahead of this month’s Handball World Championships, and the Croats are hungry for success.

“It is hard to find anyone more than me who wants to return from Spain with a medal,” said former player and now coach Slavko Goluza.

Croatia will be without one its stars over the last decade, Ivano Balic, after he was dropped by selectors. The bronze medal winners from the London Olympics take on Australia on Saturday in their opening match of the World Championships which will be held from 11-27 January in Spain
