Croatia to be connected to 25 countries this winter

Croatia will be directly connected with 25 countries during the upcoming winter flight schedule, according to data collected by the Croatian National Tourist Board (HTZ) from Croatian airports.

The strongest air connections will link Croatia with Germany, Switzerland, Austria, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom.

Beyond Europe, Croatia will also maintain direct routes to destinations in other parts of the world, including Qatar, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates.

“Air transport plays a crucial role in the development of Croatian tourism, particularly outside the main summer months when good connections with key markets are essential for achieving strong tourism results,” said Kristjan Staničić, Director of the Croatian National Tourist Board.

“This winter, Croatia is directly connected with 69 international cities, making our destinations even more attractive to travellers from around the globe. Efficient air transport directly supports the year-round and sustainable growth of the tourism sector by encouraging travel in all seasons, ensuring a more balanced flow of visitors throughout the year, and making our destinations more accessible to international markets,” he added.

During the winter flight season, 151 unique air routes are expected to operate. The cities with the strongest connections to Croatia include Frankfurt, Munich, Vienna, Amsterdam, and Istanbul.

Zagreb Airport is set to record the highest number of overall passenger operations this winter, followed by Split and Dubrovnik airports.

A total of 32 airlines will operate on routes to and from Croatia this season.

Among them, Croatia Airlines, Ryanair, Trade Air, and Lufthansa are planning the largest number of operations on both domestic and international routes.
