Croatia To Be Candidate To Host EURO 2020

The Croatian Football Federation (HNS) has confirmed that it will be a candidate to host the European Championships in 2020.

Head of European footballs ruling body UEFA Michel Platini will next week present his revolutionary idea to its board which will see the Euros hosted in 13 countries. Platini’s plan is to have the top 12 ranked European nations, according to FIFA’s ranking, host the group phases of the tournament.

“If Platini’s plan is accepted then Croatia will definitely be a candidate to host the European Championships in 2020. We have to show UEFA that we are capable of being a co-host. HNS would need credit or help from the state to completely fix up Maksimir stadium,” said HNS General Secretary Damir Vrbanovic.
