Croatia Thrash Australia At World Handball Champs

As expected Croatia were far too good for Australia in their opening match of Group D at the World Handball Championships in Madrid on Saturday, running out winners 36-13.

Man of the match was Croatia’s top scorer Zlatko Horvat, who netted 8 times. Ivan Cupic was Croatia’s next best, scoring 7 times.

“It is hard to draw any conclusions after that kind of victory. Australia was a good sparing partner for the start of the championships, ” said one of Croatia’s trainers Zeljko Babic after the match.

Croatia next face Algeria on Monday.
