Ivica Tucak’s men, who gained automatic qualification for the Olympic Games in Rio in 2016 by making the final, were unable to over come a strong Serbian side in Kazan on Saturday evening.

Croatia, who were unbeaten going into the final, beating Canada, Brazil, China, Montenegro, and Greece, last won gold at the World Championships in Melbourne in 2007. The silver medal finish was an improvement from the last World Championships in Barcelona in 2013 when Croatia won bronze.
