EHF EURO 2026: Croatia beats Slovenia to move a win away from semi-finals

Croatia a now one win away from reaching the semi-finals of the EHF EURO 2026 after recording a crucial 29–25 victory over Slovenia on Tuesday evening.

In a must-win match, Croatia delivered a composed and disciplined performance, built on a strong defensive foundation that proved decisive against a competitive Slovenian side.

Croatia took control of the match from the opening minutes and maintained their lead throughout, never allowing Slovenia to move in front.

By half-time, the scoreboard read 14–11 in Croatia’s favour, reflecting their early dominance and effective organisation at both ends of the court.

The Croatian defence was a key factor in the victory, limiting Slovenia’s attacking options and forcing errors at crucial moments.

In attack, Tin Lučin led the scoring with seven goals, while David Mandić added six. Ivan Martinović and Filip Glavaš each contributed three goals, as Croatia spread the scoring load efficiently across the team.

The win places Croatia in a strong position heading into their final match of the main round. Croatia will face Hungary tomorrow at 18:00, with victory guaranteeing a place in the semi-finals of the EHF EURO 2026.
