Average and median salaries in Croatia continue to rise in 2026

Croatia recorded further growth in wages in March 2026, with both average and median earnings showing increases on a monthly and annual basis, according to the latest official data from the Croatia Bureau of Statistics.
The average monthly net salary per employee in legal entities in Croatia stood at €1,555 in March 2026.
This represents a 1.8% increase nominally compared with February 2026, and a 0.4% real increase over the same period.
On an annual basis, the average net salary was 7.4% higher nominally compared with March 2025, which is 2.5% higher in real terms.
Average Gross Salary at €2,183
The average monthly gross salary amounted to €2,183 in March 2026.
Compared with the previous month, this marks a 2.1% nominal increase and a 0.7% real increase.
Year-on-year, gross earnings rose 8.4% nominally and 3.4% in real terms.
Median Salary Also Shows Strong Growth
The median monthly net salary, which reflects the middle point of earnings distribution, stood at €1,317 in March 2026.
This represents a 2.7% increase compared with February 2026 and a 9.8% rise compared with March 2025
The median gross salary reached €1,805, increasing 3.1% month-on-month and 11.4% year-on-year.
