Croatia reports 41 new coronavirus cases in last 24 hours, active cases keep declining

ZAGREB, July 28, 2020 – There were 41 new COVID-19 cases reported in Croatia in the last 24 hours, whilst active cases are still on the decline, the national crisis management team said on Tuesday. 

Today’s new cases bring the total number of cases since the start to 4,923.

There are currently 749 active cases in Croatia, 57 less than yesterday and hundreds fewer than last week when there were over 1,100. There have been 4,034 recoveries so far. 

There was one new COVID-19-related fatality reported in the last 24 hours. The current death toll stands at 140. 

There are 133 people in hospital and 9 patients currently on a ventilator. There are 2,915 people currently in self-isolation.

Since late February, Croatia has conducted 114,090 tests, including 1,256 in the last 24 hours.

Most of the active cases are still in the capital Zagreb, Vukovar-Srijem, Osijek-Baranja and Split-Dalmatia counties.
