Croatia Reach Quarter-Finals at European Table Tennis Championships

Croatia opened their Euro campaign with a comfortable 3:0 victory over the Czech Republic, but a loss against the Russians meant Croatia needed a win over the Romanians to advance. Croatia’s hero in the decider was 11th ranked European Andrej Gaćina, who beat Europe’s number 9 and Romania’s best player Adrian Crisan 3:2 (14:12, 11:13, 12:14, 11:7, 11:4) in a 49 minute battle.

Croatia do not know yet who they will be facing in the medal matches, a draw will be made to decide the quarter-final match-ups.
