ZAGREB, 2 May (Hina) – Thanks to the successful organisation of the Croatia Rally, the International Automobile Federation (FIA) and WRC Promoter have offered a fixed contract under which the Croatia Rally would be included in the World Rally Championship calendar for at least two more years.

“This world event is a fantastic opportunity for us to extend the tourist season and promote Croatia across the world. I hope everyone will recognise it, including state institutions and the corporate sector, and help us to organise this race in the years ahead. We have been given a chance and it would be insane to miss it,” said the president of the organising committee of the Croatia Rally, Daniel Šaškin.

The Croatia Rally was held from 22 to 25 April, when the best rally drivers demonstrated their skills in 20 speed tests on local roads in Karlovac, Krapina-Zagorje and Zagreb counties and the City of Zagreb.

The competition was broadcast in 150 countries and more than 200 foreign reporters arrived to cover the event, the largest number of foreign reporters ever to cover a sporting event in Croatia.

Despite the challenges posed by coronavirus restrictions, the competition was successfully organised and the organisers were praised by drivers, the press and fans of car races.
