Fuel prices to rise across Croatia from tomorrow

ZAGREB, 27 July 2026 (Croatia Week) – Fuel prices in Croatia will rise from tomorrow under new government regulations covering the next 14 day period.

The Croatian Government held a telephone session today and adopted measures to continue regulating retail fuel prices amid a significant projected increase in the cost of petroleum products.

The maximum retail price of petrol will rise by €0.08 per litre to €1.62, while diesel will increase by €0.16 per litre to €1.75.

Blue diesel will rise by €0.19 per litre to €1.21, while liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) for large tanks will increase by €0.05 per kilogram to €1.28. LPG for bottles will also rise by €0.05 per kilogram, reaching €1.86.

The Government said it had reduced excise duties and regulated premiums in an effort to limit the impact of higher projected market prices.

Excise duties have been reduced by €0.04 per litre for diesel and €0.01 per litre for petrol. Regulated premiums have also been reduced by €0.01 per litre for both petrol and diesel, by €0.035 per litre for blue diesel and by €0.02 per kilogram for LPG.

The maximum retail prices are calculated according to a formula based on the basic price of fossil fuels during the previous 14 day period, together with regulated premiums and excise duties.

Without the Government’s measures, and if prices were formed freely based on the applicable premiums and excise duties before the introduction of the first government regulations, petrol would reach €1.77 per litre and diesel €1.94 per litre.

Blue diesel would cost €1.28 per litre, while LPG would reach €1.39 per kilogram for large tanks and €2.10 per kilogram for bottles.

The new regulation enters into force on the day after publication and will apply for the next 14 day period.
