Less than a year after construction officially began, the future camp of the Croatian Football Federation (HNS) in Velika Gorica has taken on clear contours, with significant progress visible across the site.

The construction site was formally opened in April 2025, and after ten months of intensive work, substantial development has already been completed.

The project, considered strategic for the long-term development of Croatian football, remains firmly on schedule, with the grand opening targeted for summer 2027.

Stadium Construction Progressing Rapidly

At the future stadium, nearly all reinforced concrete works have been completed. Construction of the reinforced concrete structure for the seated sections of the stands is currently under way.

Most of the reinforced concrete columns designed to support the steel roof structure covering the stands have already been installed. Strip foundations for the pedestrian access bridge leading to the stadium have also been completed, with work on the above-ground elements now in progress.

New HNS Headquarters Taking Shape

The administrative building, which will become the new headquarters of the Croatian Football Federation, has seen all reinforced concrete structural works completed.

Interior works are advancing steadily. Electrical installations, water supply and drainage systems, heating, cooling and ventilation systems are currently being installed. Partition wall construction is also under way, while work has begun on the aluminium glazed façade on the building’s northern side.

Infrastructure and External Works Underway

Significant progress has also been made on surrounding infrastructure. Key underground installation works have been completed, including drainage and stormwater systems, cable ducts, energy channels and main heating pipelines for both the building and the main pitch.

Traffic and parking areas on the western side of the stadium have been defined, while work continues on external lighting, wastewater drainage and main pipeline installations around the football pitches. Construction work on a new substation has also been completed.

President of the Croatian Football Federation, Marijan Kustić, expressed strong satisfaction with the pace of works.

He highlighted that all deadlines set so far have been met and noted visible month-on-month progress at the site. Kustić thanked contractor Kamgrad, engineers, the HNS infrastructure department and all those involved in delivering the complex project.

He also acknowledged the significant support provided by the Croatian Government, UEFA and the City of Velika Gorica.

Andrea Dokuš, head of the HNS infrastructure department, emphasised the excellent communication and coordination between the contractor, supervisory engineers and the Federation.

She described the project as strategically vital for the development of Croatian football and underlined the shared focus on ensuring every detail is delivered to the highest standard and within the planned timeframe.

Strategic Project for Croatian Football

Once completed, the national football centre will serve as a central hub for Croatian national teams and the Federation’s operations. The new complex will include a modern stadium, training pitches, administrative offices and full supporting infrastructure.
