Croatia named among TOP 10 places to retire in the world

Croatia popular among tourists with 870,000 currently in the country

Croatia has been was named among the top 10 places in the world to retire in.

Global travel site Big 7 Travel and car comparison specialists EnjoyTravel conducted the study on the Best Places to Retire in the World with countries ranked on a number of factors.

Quality of life, cost of living, rent index, restaurant price index, average annual temperatures and the easiness of obtaining a visa or residency, as well as healthcare, hospitality, language barriers and the range of things to do were all analysed. 

Croatia was named the 8th Best Place to Retire in the World due to its low cost of living (44), high quality of life (159.21) and overall easiness of obtaining a visa/residency.

“Croatia isn’t just a hit with twenty-somethings, thousands of retirees flock here every year for a slice of the good life. Property and living costs are low (44), quality of life is high (159.21) and the visa application process is straightforward for most nationalities. World-class beaches, rich history and culture, plenty of Mediterranean sunshine and excellent restaurants add to the allure too,” the report said.
