Croatia Jumps 2 Spots in Latest FIFA Rankings

Football governing body FIFA announced on Thursday their latest rankings, with Croatia jumping two places.

Although there were just 22 international matches played over the past month, there have been some changes in the FIFA Rankings.

Croatia moved past England and Mexico to now be ranked 15th in the world, whilst Croatia’s group opponents at the FIFA World Cup in Russia, Iceland, also moved up two into the top 20 (20th).

Germany maintained their No.1 spot, with Brazil second and current European champions Portugal in third spot.

Argentina, who Croatia will also meet in Russia, is in fourth place, whilst Nigeria claims No.51 position on the list.

Croatia’s first friendly leading into the World Cup will be played in March in America against Peru who was ranked 11th in the world in the latest rankings.
