For the first time Croatia has topped the list of the most favourite destination among Austrian tourists…

The Institute for Tourism (IFT) reported this week that Croatia was the most popular holiday destination this year among tourists surveyed in Austria. 19% of those surveyed said that they planned to spend their annual holiday on the Croatian coast this year. 15% said that they would holiday in Austria somewhere, whilst the next most popular destinations were Spain, Turkey and Greece.

The number of Austrian tourists deciding to spend their holiday at home has dropped from last year when 17% of Austrians planned to holiday in the country.

Every 8th person surveyed was planning to spend their holiday this year outside of Europe, with Asia the favourite. 44% said that they will definitely go away on holiday this year, compared to 32% last year.
