Croatia in TOP 10 Destinations for 2017 in Sweden

Croatia has made the TOP 10 favourite holiday destinations among Swedish holiday-makers, reports thelocal.se.

According to Ticket, which studied holiday bookings in Sweden for 2017, Croatia has jumped from 15th place last year to jump into the TOP 10 at No. 9 this year with a massive 47% increase in bookings.

The report says that Croatia has benefited among Swedish tourists due to ‘turmoil in the world, including terror attacks and armed conflicts’.

The Swedes are looking to go to safe, popular destinations that friends and family have visited before.

“This benefits countries such as Spain, Greece and Croatia, whereas Turkey appears to get a tough 2017”, Ticket spokesperson Karin Starkman said.

Croatia is the only country in the TOP 10 list that is growing significantly in popularity with the make up of the rest of the list similar to previous years.

Spain is No. 1, followed by Thailand, the United States, Greece and the UK.

So far there has been 12% more holiday bookings in Sweden compared to the same report last year.
