LOVRAN, 4 June 2019 – Dr. Boris Nemec, doctor of the Croatian national team for 23 years, was farewelled with a special dinner last night in Lovran.

The Croatian team and staff are currently in Lovran preparing for this weekend’s Euro 2020 qualifier against Wales and last night they farewelled one of the vital members of the staff over the past two decades.

Dr. Nemec first became Croatian national team doctor in April 1996, just before Euro 1996 in England and has a World Cup bronze (1998) and silver medal (2018) in his collection.

He has received numerous awards for his work and contribution to medicine and sports, including two accolades from the President of the Republic of Croatia.

Along with other gifts, he was presented with a signed shirt from all players and staff.

“Professor, I do not need to say anything about your expertise, but first and foremost, I thank you for being a great man and what you have been showing every day for each of us. Thank you and good luck in your further work,” Luka Modrić said in behalf of the team.
