Croatia currently 1st in ranking of world’s most beautiful kits

Croatia’s red and white checkered home football kit is currently ranked 1st in the voting for the world’s most beautiful football kit. 

The big online vote to find the most beautiful kit in the world is being organised by leading Spanish national daily sport newspaper Marca. 

Nike and the Croatian Football Federation (HNS) officially unveiled the latest in March last year during Croatia’s tour of America ahead of the 2018 FIFA World Cup. 

“The checks are probably two or three times bigger than they have been in the past. This is a real statement. It is about being bold and beautiful. These oversize in-your-face checks represent a true depth of pride,” said Pete Hoppins, Senior Creative Director at Nike Football, before the unveiling.

Earlier today, the Nigeria kit was leading the vote in first place, followed by the home Spain kit in second place and the navy blue French kit in third place, just above fellow World Cup finalists Croatia who were fourth. 

But as of 18:30 on Tuesday, the Croatian kit has streaked into first place with over 23,000 votes, almost double that of Nigeria in second place which has just over 12,000 votes.
