ZAGREB, 18 July (Hina) – The Croatian National Tourist Board (HTZ) is running its first joint campaign with Booking.com until the end of July to promote Croatian accommodation providers holding the Local Host label, HTZ said on Friday.
The Local Host label has been awarded by HTZ since last year to promote high-quality, authentic private accommodation. So far, it has been granted to 3,200 properties offering around 19,000 beds.
According to HTZ, properties carrying the label have recorded slightly higher occupancy rates this year than in 2025.
The tourist board said the results of the campaign with Booking.com would be assessed after it ends, adding that the findings would determine whether similar campaigns would be conducted on the platform. It did not disclose the value of the cooperation.
Tourism and Sport Minister Tonči Glavina this week highlighted the importance of the campaign with the world’s largest accommodation booking platform, saying Local Host providers had a distinctive position within Croatia’s tourism offer.
HTZ said it had also run campaigns this year with Expedia, Skyscanner, eDreams and other global travel platforms.
Separate Local Host promotional campaigns were conducted in May and June across Germany, Austria, Slovenia, Italy, Poland, Czechia, Slovakia, Hungary and Croatia through media advertising and social media.
HTZ said the campaign, featuring real Local Host providers in promotional videos, generated more than 69.3 million impressions, reached over 20 million users and recorded more than 13.8 million video views.
The tourist board also said it had worked with influencers staying at Local Host properties to highlight the authenticity of Croatia’s tourism offer and the personal stories of hosts.
