Croatia Beats USA To Open World Water Polo Championships

Croatia has started its World Water Polo Championship campaign in style, beating the USA 9:7 in Barcelona on Monday.

The Olympic champions made a successful start to Group B, defeating a strong USA side SAD 9:7 (1-1, 2-2, 3-1, 3-3). The victory means Ivica Tucak’s side has almost secured top spot in the group already, as their remaining opponents, Canada and South Africa, are not expected to be a threat to the Croatians.
